Mango and Marmalade Stories (the “Organiser”)

1. Purpose of the Campaign

Reading Together with Mango and Marmalade Stories is a year-long literacy and community campaign designed to:

Encourage shared reading between children and their families
Promote reading for pleasure
Celebrate children’s and young readers’ authors
Build a supportive, collaborative author community

The campaign is non-commercial in nature and is based on mutual promotion and shared love of storytelling.

2. Author Participation

By taking part in the campaign, participating authors (“the Author”) agree to:

Record a 2–4 minute read-aloud video from their book
Provide a short introduction (name, book title, inspiration)
Submit two (2) complimentary copies of the featured book:
- One for the Mango and Marmalade Stories collection
- One for a UK-based reader giveaway

All postage of giveaway prizes will be handled by Mango and Marmalade Stories unless otherwise agreed.

3. Rights & Permissions

The Author confirms that:

They are the creator or rights holder of the submitted work, or have permission to share it
The read-aloud content does not infringe on any third-party rights

The Author grants Mango and Marmalade Stories non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to:

Share the submitted video, images, book title, and author name
Use this content for campaign promotion on:
- Facebook
- Instagram
- YouTube (if applicable)
- Newsletters, campaign recaps, and related promotional materials

This permission is granted for the duration of the campaign and reasonable archival use thereafter.

4. Ownership of Content

The Author retains full copyright of their book, video, and intellectual property.
Mango and Marmalade Stories does not claim ownership of the Author’s work.
Content will not be edited in a way that misrepresents the Author or their work.

5. Promotion & Credit

Mango and Marmalade Stories agrees to credit the Author clearly in all campaign posts.
Where possible, links to the Author’s website or online bookshop will be included.
Placement timing (dates/times) will be decided by the Organiser and communicated in advance.

6. No Payment or Fees

Participation is free of charge.
Mango and Marmalade Stories does not charge authors to participate.
No financial payment is offered to authors; participation is based on mutual promotion and community engagement.

7. Author Conduct

Authors agree to:

Communicate respectfully and professionally
Avoid discriminatory, offensive, or harmful content
Understand that Mango and Marmalade Stories reserves the right to remove content that conflicts with the campaign’s values of inclusion, kindness, and child-focused storytelling.

8. Data Protection & Privacy (UK GDPR)

Any personal information provided by the Author will be used solely for campaign coordination and communication.
Author data will not be shared with third parties without consent.
Authors may request access to or deletion of their data at any time.

9. Withdrawal from the Campaign

Authors may withdraw from the campaign at any time by notifying the Organiser in writing.
Content already published may remain visible as part of the campaign archive unless removal is requested.

10. Changes to the Campaign

Mango and Marmalade Stories reserves the right to amend campaign details (e.g. scheduling, platform use) if necessary.
Any significant changes will be communicated to participating authors in advance.

11. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

12. Acceptance

By submitting content and/or ticking the acceptance box on the participation form, the Author confirms that they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
